It played host to 1989 Orientation gigs, including the unusual lineup of Cattlebirds, Straitjacket Fits, Knightshade and Schnell Fenster on 7 March 1989. Mid year, Mudpeople supported Australia's Hoodoo Gurus there also. The venue later became The Club, but bars there have also gone under other names (such as The Metropole and The Gold Bar) at various times in its history. The Tim Armstrong band had a residency there for 8 months in 1987.
