Faces opened in 1989, which had previously gone under the name Roxoff, at 15 Ulster St. It played host to 1989 Orientation gigs, including the unusual lineup of Cattlebirds, Straitjacket Fits, Knightshade and Schnell Fenster on 7 March 1989. Mid year, Mudpeople supported Australia's Hoodoo Gurus there also. The venue later became The Club (~1992), with gigs including Headless Chickens and MCOJ & Rhythm Slave (15 June 1992). Bars there have also gone under other names (such as The Metropole (mid-1980s), Zeppelins (1991) and The Gold Bar at various times in its history.
