Ebony Sye were a new wave/rock band active between 1984 and 1989, who ere for a time based in Hamilton. Their debut album If You Want To Be King (Ode Records; SODET 270) in 1987. The band toured New Zealand in 1987, and played Auckland's Power Station in a Battle of the Bands competition the same year.

Singer and guitarist Niel de Jong later formed band Voodoo Love. His sons are in the band Alien Weaponry.
