The Music Box sold second-hand vinyl, tapes and CDs. The owner of the Music Box had a reputation as being a bit miserly; nearly every record in the store was inevitably labelled as a "rarity" and as being in "excellent condition". The Music Box was the last of Hamilton's old school record exchanges (see Victoria Street Record Exchange and Hamilton Record Exchange) to close after which it was relocated to Napier in the early 2000's.
