The Red Hot Peppers were a rock/pop group who formed in Hamilton c.1975. Initially they comprised Robbie Laven (multiple instruments), Marion Arts (vocals), Paul Baxter (bass) (all formerly of 1953 Memorial Society Rock'N Roll Band), Mike Farrell (guitar) and Jim McMillan (drums). Hans Laven replaced Farrell on guitar while still based in Hamilton. During this time they released the album Tojours Yours and the single Dreams to Come. The band appeared on the first ever episode of Radio With Pictures in September 1976.
After their initial releases failed to sell in large quantities, The Red Hot Peppers disbanded in early 1977. However, they soon reformed (late 1977) in Australia, comprising R. Laven, Arts, Farrell, with new members Vaughn Mayberry (drums) and Pete Kershaw (bass). Three further singles and two albums were released. More information can be found here: [1]
