The inaugural Waikato Music Expo was part of the 2012 Waikato Show, held on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 April 2012, at the Claudelands Conference Room. It was organised by Nick Johnston from Arts Waikato. The Music Expo featured instrument makers and importers, secondhand vinyl, music industry groups, recording studios, music tutors, recording hardware and software, local venues, and radio stations.
