Wings of Steel cover art

Stonehenge were a metal band formed in Hamilton in the early 1980s, who later based themselves in Auckland. They released an EP on Jayrem titled Wings of Steel in 1986. The title track also appeared on the 1986 compilation Masters of Metal. A track incorrectly titled Warlords appeared on the 1986 compilation Attack from Downunda, although is the same song as Burning Fever from the Wings of Steel EP.

Another Stonehenge, a new wave band, was seemingly also active in the early 1980s. They competed at Battle of the Bands 1983.
