During the late '80s and early '90s Gillian Woods was one half of the duo Sour Grapes, along with Ross Holloway of Two White Eyes, Alchemist, and Pregnant Hippies.
She also played in Jam Sandwich between 1990 and 1991 with Stan Jagger, Chris Paki, Adam Hyde and Greg Locke, and appeared as a backing vocalist on the Book of Martyrs album Purified Seven Times in 1991. Most of these projects were documented by Orange Recordings at some point or another.
During the 1990s Gillian went to Wellington. She later returned to Hamilton and between 2002-2003 was responsible for the project known as Henderwood.
