Beginning life as 'Freedom Fest', 9 Bands For No Bucks was an annual event held in November celebrating local music and culture. Organised by Carl Watkins and Corrina from the group Daisy Chain Halo, Freedom Fest ended in 2003, due to time constraints on the organisers.
