Mr X lives in Wellington. Gabriel, Sharnay and Joelle now live in Hamilton. All members of the band are still in contact. Inturnal were formed in late 2002 by Joelle Walker (lead vocals), Carleen Janlewicz (guitar, back up vocals), Gabriel Smith (guitar, back up vocals), Mr X (bass) and Sharnay Moxey (drums). In 2003 they made the semi-finals of the Generator Battle of the Bands, the semi-finals of the "National Battle of the Bands", and won the "Peavey Band Search".
