Steaknife

Steaknife was formed in 1989 by Stu Schmidt, Droid (Andrew Schmidt), Marcel Gyde (drums), and Scott MacFarlane (guitar/ vocals). The band supported SPUD at Auckland venue Venue. Steve McLennan joined the band on guitar late in the band's existence, with he, Gyde and Schmidt going on to form Zooper. Day Is Gone, recorded by the first lineup, was released on The Weird Lode compilation of Paeroa descended post-punk groups.
