Andrew Johnstone was a vocalist in Three Men Missing and Hoola Troupe in the late 1980s to early 1990s, and released a solo album in 1994. In the 2010s, he was been writing stories for Rip it Up, including Hamilton content, and was the final editor of the magazine. Following this. he has been writing for Audioculture.
