Paul Trenwith

Paul Tenwith was a founding member of the Hamilton County Bluegrass Band. Trenwith was Hamilton born and raised, attending priary school in Te Rapa and then Fairfield College. As a boy he played ukelele, before taking up the banjo. His banjo playing was inspired by the picking style of Earl Scruggs. He has released an album, Bluegrass Pickings, which includes songs written (or co-written) by him over the previous 40 years.

He also plays with the Trenwith Boys, with is sons Mike (dobro), Jeremy (guitar and bass), Sam (drums and guitar) and Tim (bass). His sons have played in Radiator, Broken Harmonium and Late 80's Mercedes.
