Atomic Garage were a young hardcore/punk/ska band formed in about 1999. Members were Joe Hitchcock on vocals and guitar, Nick Tidmarsh also on guitar, Alister Agen on drums and Richard Conroy on bass. They played alongside Thrifty and Sombre a few times, some shows at JBCs, came second in the Showtime '99 Band Blitz, were in the Rockquest 99 regional finals, and played their last gig on Friday, February 18th 2000 at JBCs with Foamy Ed, Pugface, and Thrifty; which was also Thrifty's last gig.

Alister Agen went to Auckland to study. Joe Hitchcock joined Thrifty frontman Luke McPake's new band My Two Cents. Nick Tidmarsh and Richard Conroy started a new band called Cryptic Sam.
