The Music Box was located near the corner of Collingwood and Alexandra Streets, where ChiChi Deluxe is now.

The Music Box sold vinyl, tapes and CDs. The owner of the Music Box had a reputation as being a miserly bastard; nearly every record in the store was a "rarity". The Music Box was the last of Hamilton's old school record exchanges (see Victoria Street record Exchange and Hamilton record Exchange) to close up; the Music Box was relocated to Napier in the early 2000's.
